Independence Day, July 4th 2013. More than 200 years of freedom to do as we choose, say, live. My 90 year old grandfather reminds me that freedom is not a right, but something that’s earned and defended. It’s not long ago that we struggled for what we enjoy today. Celebration and recognition are not only necessary on this fine day, but required.

Don’t ask my why, I’m obsessed with ampersands. I used it graphically for a unique project, and ever since then I’ve been hooked, addicted, smitten. There’s something about the shape, a curve unlike any other symbol. And the meaning – ah yes, the meaning. To bring things together. Additive by nature. A merging of words and meaning.
